listening through your teeth

Reading Response Journal

Title:listening through your teeth

Author:by Patricia Glensor

Today I read about piano

I feel happy about what I read today because I got to be the leader

My favourite character was the old lady because she was the main character

I would feel happy if the same thing that happened to my character, happened to me because I wolde know how to play the piano

I think if the author decided to write another part to this story this is what will happen it will be a kid with the piano

how to make a cake tin make music

You will need
.a square or rectangular metal cake tin
.5 rubber bands that will stretch lengthwise around the cake tin
.a piece of thick cardboard big enough to overlap one end of the cake tin
.5 soft drink caps or small pebbles

Steps
Step 1 Measure and cut out a rectangular piece of cardboard. It should be slightly wider than the cake tin and should cover about half the length of the tin.

Step 2 lay the piece of cardboard over one of the tin and stretch the rubber bands lengthwise around the tin space them evenly across the cardboard. Beide each string write a number-1,2,3,4, and 5.

Step 3 Slip one of the soft drink caps or pebbles between each of the rubber bands and the cardboard.

Step 4 Pluck one of the rubber bands at the ncovered end of the tin and listen to the sound it makes as it vibrates. You can change the sound that each string makes by moving the soft drink cap or pebble back and forth under the string. Experiment to find out how to make the notes higher and lower.

Step 5 When you have tuned all the stings try picking out a tune on your instrument. Of each note in turn. Put a dah where you want  a rest or break in the tune.
For example:
333-333-35123
Play your tune back to yourself. Then see if a friend can play it back to you!.

WOOD PIGEON

1. Feeding flocks are highly gregarious, and may number many thousands of birds.

2. In many parts of Europe the wood pigeon is the favourite prey of the goshawk.

3. Though they have been recorded breeding in every month of the year, the peak month for fledging is August.

4. The majority of young birds are likely to die within their first 12 months, but the record age for a ringed wild bird is over 16.

5. It takes 17 days for an egg to hatch, and a further 30 to 34 days for the chick to fledge.
